Market levels of Value

Retail and/or Value In Use

This represents the highest market level

Retail 

The price at which property would change hands between a willing buyer and a willing seller, neither being under any compulsion to buy or sell and both having reasonable knowledge of relevant facts.

Value IN Use

Value In Use is the income producing value of the horse.  The ability of the horse to produce daily stream of income over the course of a month or to years.

 

Liquidation-orderly

The most probable price in terms of cash, or other precisely revealed terms, for which a property changes hands under required and limiting conditions in an orderly manner, marketplace, with knowledgeable buyers. Arms length and exposed to the market for an adequate time.

 

Liquidation-forced

The most possible price, in terms of cash or other precisely revealed terms, for which the property would change hands if sold immediately, without regards to the relevant market place.

 Cull Value

The price an animal would bring when is condition renders it to no longer have a justifiable or legitimate usefulness.

  

Items Required by the Appraiser

1.  A copy of pedigree (four generations)

2.  A Photocopy of registration certificates

3.  Stallion -- Photocopy of blood type certificate, DNA, copy of last two years stud report, list of offspring sired by stallion.

4.  Mare --  Completed record of foals, sire of foal, sire's stud fee, show record of foal, sex of foal and all dates purchase prices of foals. Also, embyro transfers, recipient mares, price of sold embryo, stud fees and costs of procedures.

5.  Show record (if applicable).

6.  Name, address and telephone number of person or ranch where subject horse was purchased.  Purchase price and date of purchase.

7.  Veterinarian certificate of health.

8. Name and location of past trainers involved with the subject equine.

9.  Any other data that you feel is relevant to determining market value or value in use.
